We have had a very unusual and interesting photo request from Keith Kitching. I will let him explain what he is looking for in his own words.....

Dear Martin
I hope that you can help me. I used to be a driver for a coach company called Scott's Greys of Darlington.
Part of my job was to take the Pipe Band of the Royal Scot's Dragoon Guards (Royal Scot's Greys) wherever they went in the country.

On Wed. 8th June 1977 I took them to Edinburgh and reversed the coach on to the platform at the railway station so that I was parked next to the 'Silver Jubilee' Flying Scotsman which was being pulled by Deltic Royal Scots Grey.

I didn't have a camera with me and have looked for a photo of this ever since.

This must have been a unique event with the Royal Scot's Greys Pipe Band, The Royal Scot's Grey Deltic locomotive and a Scott's Greys Coach, all together. There were lots of photographers about so somebody must have a photo of this. I now own a 1952 Scott's Greys coach and I am trying to get together a photo collection to go with it.

I would be grateful if you have or know of any photos taken at Edinburgh in 1977

If anyone has any photos that may match what keith is looking for you can contact him through the contacts section of this site and we will pass the message on.
A photo of the coach Keith currently owns can be seen here...
